Removal of Selected Dyes on Activated Carbons

چکیده
Dyes are widely used in various industries such as those involving paper, food, plastics, and fibers. The produced wastewater has a specific character. Organic substances found when introduced into natural water bodies have toxic effect on living organisms, causing increased chemical biological oxygen demand. Some dyes, even very low concentrations, cause intense colouring. To remove dyes from wastewater, methods flotation, oxidation, ozonation, filtration or coagulation with metal compounds used. Unfortunately, these used, large amounts of sludge produced, which is another problem for the environment. Therefore, one that can effectively without creating waste activated carbon adsorption. Adsorption treatment dye industry particular importance due to their high efficiency, ability operate over relatively wide range availability. most common adsorbent carbon, adsorption capacity against many organic compounds. aim this study was determine rate type removal efficiency selected cationic (anilan yellow) anionic (tartrazine) aqueous solutions.

Simultaneous removal of five triazole fungicides from synthetic solutions on activated carbons and cyclodextrin-based adsorbents
In this study, an adsorption-oriented process for the removal of fungicides from polycontaminated aqueous solutions was applied. To remove triazole fungicides from aqueous mixtures of propiconazole (PROPI), tebuconazole (TEBU), epoxiconazole (EPOXI), bromuconazole (BROMU) and difenoconazole (DIFENO), several materials used as adsorbents were compared using batch experiments, namely two conventi...
متن کاملRemoval of naphthalene from aqueous solution on chemically modified activated carbons.
The aim of this work was to correlate the textural and chemical features of carbonaceous adsorbents with the adsorption capacity of naphthalene from aqueous phase, at the concentration in which this compound is usually found in wastewater from coke ovens. The study reveals that the adsorption capacity in different carbon materials depends not only on the textural characteristics of the material...

متن کاملAdsorptive Removal of Vapors of Toxic Sulfur Compounds using Activated Carbons
Adsorption of CS2 vapors has been studied on different types of activated carbons obtained from different source raw materials. The activated carbons have different surface areas and are associated with varying amounts of the carbon-oxygen surface groups. The adsorption of CS2 vapors is not directly related to surface area, but is considerably influenced by the presence of carbonoxygen surface ...
